Our story begins with Goran Pandev – a man from Strumica who has conquered the heights of football in Europe at a club and representative level. He showcased his love for football by establishing a football club in 2010 to restore football glory to his native Strumica. He founded FC “Academy Pandev” and started investing in the idea of creating a real football academy where young people will get the opportunity and professional guidance for football as a sport.
Four years later, the club registered a senior team in FFM, and in three years it reached the First Football League, becoming Champions in the Municipal, Third League East, and Second Football League of Macedonia. In the same year, 2014, the construction of the “Pandev” Sports Center in Strumica, near the city stadium, begins. This center is a modern multi-functional facility for the needs of the youth and seniors of FC Academy Pandev.
On February 15, 2023, the company announced its first planned acquisition by signing a Letter of Intent to acquire the European football premier league football club Academy Pandev in North Macedonia, a country with a right to participate in the three major UEFA competitions. This serves as an example of how Brera Holding implements its international strategy and simultaneously continues to expand and license the brand Brera FC in Eastern Europe. By acquiring Academy Pandev and renaming the company to Brera, there are aims to improve the performance of the team and, ideally, prepare the players for the professional transfer market and for earning awards relating to their right to participate in UEFA.
Brera Holding focuses on Multi-Club Ownership (MCO) and is expanding its global portfolio of sports clubs in men’s football and women’s volleyball to increase opportunities to receive awards, acquire sponsorships, and provide other professional consultancy services related to football and sports.
The company seeks to build on the legacy and brand of Brera FC, the first football club to be acquired in 2022. Brera FC is an amateur football association in Italy, aiming to build a football legacy since its foundation in 2000. In March 2023, the company expanded into Africa with the founding of Brera Tchumene, a team admitted to the Second Division League in Mozambique, a country of almost 32 million inhabitants. In April 2023, the company bought 90% of European football’s first league football club Academy Pandev in North Macedonia, a country with rights to participate in the three major competitions of the Union of European Football Association (UEFA). On July 31, 2023, the company completed the acquisition of majority ownership in Italian Serie A1 women’s professional volleyball team, UYBA Volley. The company aims to provide returns to investors based on its unique value creation methodology with a focus on undervalued sports clubs on an international level while paying attention to results on social impact.

From the 2017/2018 competition, it is part of the best Macedonian football club, and two years later, in 2019, it won the Cup of Macedonia and made its debut on the European stage. During the 2021/2022 competition, it appeared on the scene for the second time after winning second place and becoming the football vice-champions of Macedonia. In 2023, FC Academia Pandev AD rebranded as FC AP Brera Strumica, after the Italian-American company Brera Holding bought the majority stake. Over the course of the club’s existence, apart from the senior team, several championship and cup titles have been won in youth competitions, and a large number of football players from the club are part of the youth and senior football teams of Macedonia.

Our mission and vision are to become a football club that produces high-quality football players and matches and wins titles. We aim to continuously stay at the top of Macedonian football and present our work and potential on the European football scene. In our club, we share the same motto – to create a positive atmosphere, do a professional job, and position ourselves as leaders in football in our country. Our focus remains on nurturing and finding new talent and building quality players for domestic and international titles.
The “Pandev” sports center is a sports facility in Strumica that is still under construction. The center is planned as a multi-functional facility. It is an initiative from the Macedonian footballer Goran Pandev. The facility is located near the “Park” Sports Hall and the “Blagoj Istatov” stadium. Following its full construction, the facility will serve the youth and seniors of FC Academy Pandev Brera Strumica.
FC AP Brera Strumica played at the “Kukush” stadium in the village of Turnovo during the spring part of the 2023/2024 season. The stadium has been renovated and is still undergoing investment projects. The stands include a drinks counter and have been adapted and arranged to facilitate better reception and comfort for visitors looking to watch the matches being played on the home pitch. The complex houses a parking area for the entrance into the stadium, which can be accessed from both sides for watching the match.
